Jonathan Burak
Registered Physiotherapist in Brantford, Ontario | Jonathan Burak’s successful career in physiotherapy began with his involvement in downhill ski racing. Growing up Jon was on the Ontario Men’s Downhill Ski Team and competed at national and international levels. As a competitive athlete, he consistently was treated with physiotherapy. This allowed him to see the potential of future jobs, as well as understand the importance that comes along with being a physiotherapist.
After completing a Bachelor of Physical Education and Health degree at the University of Toronto, and a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University Jonathan finally got to start treating patients. Jonathan’s grit and determination shown through competitive sports is what drove, and aided him in completing six years of university.
Apart from formal university education, Jonathan has pursued numerous post-graduate courses, some of which include training in acupuncture, manipulation and mobilization, TMJ assessment and treatment, therapeutic taping, and the McKenzie Approach to lower back care.
With a background in elite level sports, Jonathan also sought out to add the proper theory to his real-world experience by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has attended international sports medicine and cardiac rehabilitation conferences as well as courses dealing with Male Pelvic Health issues, to ensure he is aware of the latest research and information on these patient populations and areas of care.
